Cash management in Estonia
Danske Bank acquired Sampo Bank of Finland, including subsidiaries in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia, in 2007.

Sampo Pank in Estonia, with 593 employees and 17 branches, is one of the leading banks in the country. Sampo Pank offers services to corporate and institutional customers including cash management, asset management, treasury and conventional retail banking products.

Payment and clearing systems
Sampo Pank has access to the following systems:

  • RTGS system: high-value transactions and clearing between banks
  • ESTA system: low-value clearing
The RTGS clearing format is SWIFT and the ESTA clearing format is FIXED WIDTH (text file).

You can choose from a variety of payment types according to your needs:
  • Credit transfer is the principal means of payment, and it is mainly done electronically
  • Domestic Direct Debit Cross-use System enables direct debit payments between banks, allowing corporates to collect direct debit payments from their customers
  • E-payment and E-invoice have been introduced in Estonia but have not reached significant volumes
Electronic banking
Sampo Internet Bank in both the Estonian and English language gives access to setting up payments and viewing account information.

MicroBanker 2000, electronic e-banking software that can be linked to the accounting system, provides easy access to payment reconciliation.

Business Online is Danske Bank’s online business system. It provides rapid access to setting up payments, viewing account information and authorising several payments at the same time. All information in Business Online is updated continually, so you always have an up-to-date picture of your company’s cash position.
