Cash management in the Republic of Ireland Danske Bank has been operating in the Republic of Ireland since March 2005, when we acquired National Irish Bank, a growing retail bank with a network of 59 branches and 13 finance centres. National Irish Bank provides corporate customers with a broad range of financial products tailored to the market in Ireland. Payments and clearing systems There are three principal clearing systems in Ireland, and all are run by the Irish Payment Services Organisation (IPSO): IRIS, an RTGS system used for the settlement of same day payments (EUR). EFTS, a bulk electronic clearing system handling both direct debits and direct credits ( EUR) Cheque and Credit, for bulk paper clearing.
