Cash management in Lithuania
Danske Bank acquired Sampo Bank of Finland, including subsidiaries in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia, in 2007.

Sampo Bankas offers services to corporate and institutional customers, including cash management, asset management, treasury and conventional retail banking products.

Payment and clearing systems
LITAS processes all kinds of customer and interbank payments regardless of their value.

  • LITAS-RLS is real-time processing of payment orders in litas initiated by its participants
  • LITAS-MMS is processing of retail payments
LITAS is used for both ordinary payments and urgent payments.

Payment instruction information is exchanged electronically between participants and the BoL (system designer). The participants in the LITAS-RLS system are the Bank of Lithuania, nine commercial banks, two foreign bank branches, nine financial brokerage companies, the Depository and the Central Credit Union of Lithuania.

Payment instruments
  • Credit transfer is the dominant payment type. Payments from corporate customers are mainly made as credit transfers
  • Direct debit is used mostly for public utilities and services settlements
  • Internet banking is growing among both corporate and personal customers
  • E-payment and E-invoice have been introduced in Lithuania but are not widespread
Electronic banking SAMPO E-Bank is SAMPO Bankas’ online business system in the Lithuanian and English languages. It provides access to viewing account information and setting up payments.

SAMPO CLICK allows e-commerce Web sites to accept instant online payments from SAMPO E-Bank users.

Business Online is Danske Bank’s online business system. It provides rapid access to setting up payments, viewing account information and authorising several payments at the same time. All information in Business Online is updated continually, so you always have an up-to-date picture of your company’s cash position.
