	Danske Bank acquired Sampo Bank of Finland, including subsidiaries in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia, in 2007. The Russian bank acquired by Sampo Bank in 2006 has been under intensive development. It has been operational since April 2007, and the process of changing its name from ZAO Profibank to ZAO Danske Bank was completed in June 2007. In Russia, Danske Bank is concentrating on corporate clients whose majority owners come from the Nordic or Baltic countries. The bank’s services in Russia are especially advantageous for companies that also use Danske Bank in other markets. Payment and clearing systems ZAO Danske Bank in Russia executes domestic rouble payments through the clearing system of the Central Bank of Russia cross-border payments in Russian roubles and other currencies through the SWIFT system in accordance with international terms and standards subject to the local currency control and anti-money laundering regulations Payment orders can be presented either in electronic form using the Bank’s electronic banking system or in paper form at the premises of the Bank. Domestic settlements can be executed only in roubles and in accordance with the forms issued by the Central Bank of Russia. Electronic banking Bank-Client Link is a compact software package to be installed by the Bank on the client’s computer. Internet Bank is a browser-based Web tool and requires no separate installation by the Bank. Both channels have been developed in accordance with up-to-date security requirements, preventing unauthorised access to accounts and keeping all transmitted information confidential. Both are proven solutions widely used in Russia and have a partly bilingual Russian-English interface. Through the Internet Bank, we can offer the option of operating and controlling accounts from outside of Russia – using the bilingual Russian-English interface.
